Sarah is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the UK and Nordic markets.

Prior to joining Apera, Sarah was an Associate in the KPMG Debt Advisory team in London where she advised clients on the execution of their debt financing strategies. Sarah has worked on transactions across the bank and capital markets and her client base included a variety of large and mid-market UK based businesses across a broad range of industries.

Sarah qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and holds a BA (Hons.) in History from the University of Exeter.

Prior to Apera, Will was an Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in their London and Guernsey offices. 

Will has worked with a variety of clients, principally in the private equity and insurance industries. 

Will qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC and holds a BA (Hons.) in History from the University of Exeter.

Artem is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the DACH market.

Artem joined from DC Advisory Frankfurt Infrastructure M&A team. Before that, he worked at the Infrastructure Finance team of UniCredit Bank in Munich, focused on origination and execution of project finance transactions in the energy and telecommunications sectors. He initially started his career as a member of Rating Advisory team within the Capital Markets Division of UniCredit.

Artem holds a professional law degree from Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Kaliningrad and a BSc in International Business from the European University Business School, Munich.

Sibylle is the Executive Assistant to the Founder Partner in the Munich office. 

She has over 10 years of experience working as an Assistant in the Finance Industry. Prior to joining Apera, Sibylle worked for a Private Equity company, as a Team Assistant to Portfolio Partners.

Sibylle graduated in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Hamburg (VWA).

Matthieu is part of the investment team in the Paris office and focuses on the French and Benelux regions. 

He joined from Moody’s Investors Service where he was involved in the credit rating of investment grade and high yield corporate issuers. Prior to Moody’s, Matthieu had experience in leverage finance and M&A at BNP Paribas and DC Advisory where he worked on various international transactions. Matthieu graduated from Sciences Po Paris with a MSc in Corporate Finance.

Darios is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the DACH market.

Prior to joining Apera, Darios was involved in the origination, structuring and execution of sponsor-backed leveraged transactions in the DACH region as part of UniCredit’s Leveraged Finance team.

Darios holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and Management from Edinburgh Napier University, as well as a BA in International Business Administration from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.

Stefan is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the UK and Nordic markets.

 Prior to joining Apera, he was a Senior Associate in the European Capital Markets team at Houlihan Lokey, where he provided strategic capital raising advice to both Private Equity and Corporate clients across a wide range of industries. His experience spans mid-market leverage finance, as well as hybrid and distressed private credit, transacting across the UK, Europe and APAC.

Prior to HL, Stefan was a Manager in KPMG’s Debt Advisory team, where he focused on mid-market leverage finance transactions for Private Equity clients.

 Stefan is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having trained at KPMG, and holds a BSc in Acountancy from the University of Birmingham.

Marin is part of the investment team in the Paris office, focusing on the French and Benelux regions.

Prior to joining Apera, Marin was part of Alantra's debt advisory team, advising mid-market clients on debt-financing situations. Before that, Marin had experiences in private debt and leverage finance.

Marin holds a Master’s Degree in Corporate Finance from Neoma Business School.

Elizabeth Fitzsimons is the Office Manager and Team Assistant in the London office. 

Prior to working in Apera, she worked in the engineering, accounting and sports and entertainment industries in Dublin as an Administrator. She received an Associate’s Degree of Arts from Clark College, Washington.

Alexandre is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the French and Benelux markets.

Prior to joining Apera, Alexandre had experience in leverage & acquisition finance, M&A and private equity at BNP Paribas, Edenred and Edmond de Rothschild, where he worked on various international transactions.

Alexandre graduated from Paris Dauphine University with a MSc in Corporate Finance and Financial Engineering.

Victor is a Principal in the Munich office and focuses on the DACH region.

Prior to joining Apera, Victor worked for one year at Allianz Global Investors in the European Private Debt team in Munich and for three years in the Leveraged Finance team at Unicredit in Munich and London. During his time at Unicredit, he was involved in the structuring and origination of LBO transactions in the small-, mid-, and large-cap space across a variety of industries. 

Victor holds an MSc in Finance & Strategic Management from Copenhagen Business School and a BSc in Economics from the University of Kiel.

Eva is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the DACH market. 

Prior to Apera, Eva worked in the Leveraged Finance Group at UniCredit Bank in Munich and London, where she was involved in the origination, structuring and execution of leveraged transactions across various industries in the DACH region. Eva arranged acquisition financing packages for German and international private equity clients, including syndicated senior and sub debt instruments.

Eva graduated from the University of Witten/Herdecke with a MA in Management and holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Bayreuth.

Sophie is part of the HR Team.

Prior to joining Apera, Sophie gained over five years of experience in various HR roles at Endeavour, a global sports and entertainment company. During her tenure, she managed human resources processes and initiatives for industry-leading organizations, including UFC, WME, IMG, the Premier League, and the PGA European Tour.

Sophie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ancient History from Newcastle University.

Louis-Matthieu is a Partner at Apera and is responsible for developing the business in France and the Benelux region.

Louis-Matthieu has been active in the LBO and acquisition finance markets for over 20 years, originating and arranging transactions first with international banks and subsequently in the direct lending space. Louis-Matthieu started his career in the Leveraged Finance / Financial Sponsors team of Merrill Lynch in London, before moving on to Royal Bank of Scotland in Paris, as a director in the Leveraged Finance Group. He also successfully developed the LBO franchise of IKB Deutsche Industriebank in the French market as head of the Paris team. He joins from HIG WhiteHorse, where he was responsible for launching and managing the private debt activities in France.

Louis-Matthieu has a management degree from EM Lyon, a master’s degree in finance from Sciences Po Paris and an MBA from INSEAD.

Francien is ESG Manager at Apera, based in the London office.

Before joining Apera, Francien was a Sustainability Manager at Oakley Capital, integrating ESG considerations across the investment cycle. Prior to that, she worked as a consultant in the ESG & RI team at MJ Hudson and as part of the FIG DCM origination team at ING.

Francien holds an MSc in Finance & Investments and an MSc in Behavioural Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Megan is part of the Finance team at Apera.

Prior to Apera, Megan was an Audit Senior Associate at PwC in both their London and Boston offices. Megan focussed primarily on the Private Debt and Private Equity industries.

Megan qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC and holds a BEng (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Exeter.

Mathieu is an Analyst in the Paris office and focuses on the French and Benelux regions.

Prior to joining Apera, Mathieu was a Corporate Finance analyst at Carax where he advised mid-market issuers on financing transactions. Before that, Mathieu was working in the M&A division of Alten, a listed IT consulting business, where he was involved on various international acquisitions.

Mathieu holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance from the Grenoble Ecole de Management.

Roxy is part of the Operations team at Apera.

Prior to joining Apera, Roxy worked as an Operations Analyst at TAM Asset Management, where she focussed primarily on the investment management industry. Roxy holds a BSc in International Business from Aston University and a Masters in Investment Banking from Queen Mary University of London

Lucy is a Director of HR at Apera.

Prior to Apera, Lucy occupied various HR roles at a number of organisations including Deutsche Bank and most recently Rothschild & Co where she led the Early Talent team.

Lucy holds a BA (Hons.) in History from the University of Leeds and an MSc degree in Organisational Analysis from King's College London.

Mathew is a member of the Operations Team.

Prior to joining Apera Asset Management, Matthew worked in the Pooled Vehicle team at Partners' Capital, focusing primarily on private equity. Before this, he worked at Aztec Group Luxembourg as a fund accountant. Matthew holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Nottingham.

Simon is part of the Investment team at Apera.

Prior to joining Apera, Simon gained experience in UniCredit's Leveraged Finance team, where he originated and executed leveraged buyouts for Tier 1 and mid-cap private equity funds based in the DACH region, the UK and the US.

Simon holds a B.Sc. in Business Psychology from FOM University of Applied Sciences.

Arno is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the French and Benelux markets.

Prior to Apera, Arno was an Investment Analyst at CAPZA, a pan-European private capital platform, where he focused on mid-market direct lending. His prior experience also includes internships at EMZ Partners and at Siparex Midcap working on French mid-market private equity investments.

Arno holds an MSc in Management (Grande Ecole Program) from ESSEC Business School.

Salim is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the French and Benelux markets.

He joined from De Pardieu Brocas Maffei, where he advised hedge funds, banks and debtors in the context of French and cross-border restructuring and financing transactions across a variety of industries. Prior to De Pardieu Brocas Maffei, Salim worked in the M&A, private equity and restructuring departments of several financial institutions, both in France and the UK. 

Salim graduated from HEC Paris, Sciences Po Paris and University Panthéon-Sorbonne. Salim was also admitted to the Paris Bar.

Kah is part of the Operations team at Apera, managing the investment portfolio.

Prior to Apera, Kah worked at the Traditional Credit Products team at J.P. Morgan, focussing on the origination and execution of loan acquisition financing for the Corporate and Investment Bank in EMEA. Before that, he was part of Syndicated Loans Agency covering primary and secondary loan trading.  

Kah holds a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Warwick (Warwick Business School).

Iain is part of the Finance team at Apera.

Prior to Apera, Iain was a Consultant at Deloitte where he focussed primarily on advising clients within the private equity and start-up space.

Iain qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and holds a Bsc (Hons.) in Accounting, Finance and Business Management from the University of York.

Cristina is Corporate and Legal officer at Apera.

Cristina has more than two years of experience working within the funds industry in Luxembourg.  Before joining Apera, she worked as a Corporate Officer for FundRock LIS S.A, a successful UCITS Management Company and Alternative Investment Fund Manager, offering fund management solutions. Prior to FundRock LIS, Cristina worked for 5 years as a legal administrative officer and legal adviser for EOS KSI Romania, part of EOS Group.

Cristina holds a law degree from the University of Craiova.  She also holds a Master in Human Rights from the University of Craiova.

Larissa is part of the Finance team at Apera.

Prior to Apera, Larissa was an Audit Senior Associate at PwC in their London and Sydney offices with a focus on listed entities. 

Larissa qualified as an ACA Chartered Accountant with PwC in 2018 and holds a First Class BA (Hons.) in Business and Management from the University of Exeter.

Thomas is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the DACH market.

He joined from BayernLB, where he worked on the origination, structuring and execution of energy and infrastructure transactions across EMEA as part of the Project Finance team in Munich. His prior experiences include Leveraged Finance and Debt Capital Markets at BayernLB, as well as Structured Finance and Syndication at UniCredit.

Thomas holds a BSc and a MSc in Economics from the University of Regensburg.

Alonso is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the UK and Nordic markets.

Prior to Apera, Alonso was an Investment Associate at Gildemeister Group, a Peruvian based real estate fund and started his career at Credicorp Capital, a leading Latin American financial conglomerate, where he focussed on corporate banking and SME lending. His prior experiences also include internships in private debt at Aurelius Finance Company and private equity at Everest Capital.

Alonso has a BSc in Business Administration, with a concentration in finance, from Boston University and an MBA from London Business School.

Ennis  is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the DACH market.

Prior to Apera, Ennis was an Investment Analyst at CAPZA, a pan-European private capital platform, where he focused on mid-market direct lending. His prior experience also includes internships at Greenhill & Co., working on M&A transactions, and at DBAG, working on German small to mid-market private equity investments. 

Ennis holds an MSc in Finance and a BSc in International Business Administration from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.

Ann-Katrin is part of the Finance team at Apera.  

Prior to Apera, Ann-Katrin was an Audit Senior at Kreston Reeves in their London office as well as an Accounts and Audit Senior at Griffin Stone Moscrop & Co, where she looked after a broad portfolio of small to medium sized clients which were predominantly owner managed.  Ann-Katrin qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Griffin Stone Moscrop & Co in 2021 and holds a First Class MA in History and Mathematics from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. 

Magda is Legal and Compliance Director at Apera. 

Prior to joining, Magda acted as legal counsel for Hayfin Capital Management and Bank of New York Mellon. Magda also worked at White & Case where she qualified as an Associate in the Capital Markets group.  

Magda is admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and holds an LLB in Laws from the London School of Economics and a Master of Laws from the Warsaw University.

Sarah is part of the Investor Relations team at Apera.

Prior to joining Apera, Sarah was a Senior Analyst in the Consumer, Retail & Luxury team at Citigroup where she provided strategic advice and financing solutions to companies, including mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions.

Sarah graduated from the University of Glasgow with a First Class Bachelor of Science with Honours in Mathematics.

Anna is a Partner Assistant in the Munich office. 

She has over 8 years of experience working as an Assistant. Prior joining Apera, Anna worked for a private equity company as an executive assistant and as a partner assistant at KPMG Law. She also completed an apprenticeship in a 5-star hotel in Munich after graduating from high school.

Pia is part of the Investor Relations team at Apera.

Prior to joining Apera, Pia worked with Stifel as an M&A Analyst in Frankfurt, and lately as Business Development Manager with Sony in London. 

Pia graduated from the University of Maastricht with a First Class Bachelor of Science in International Business and obtained a Master from King's College London with Distinction. 

Klaus Petersen is a Founding Partner of Apera, responsible for developing the Apera platform and the business in the DACH region. 

Klaus has extensive direct lending experience gained over the past 17 years. Prior to forming Apera in 2016, Klaus was a partner at BlueBay Asset Management, responsible for building the German business and establishing BlueBay’s Private Debt platform from 2013 to 2016. 

Before BlueBay, Klaus spent seven years at Park Square Capital from 2005 to 2013, where he was a partner and member of the investment committee and initially responsible for building the German business. In addition, Klaus co-led Park Square’s first Credit Opportunities Fund from 2007 and served as an interim CFO from 2009. Prior to joining Park Square, Klaus spent five years at Allianz Capital Partners from 2000, where he established, with colleagues, the mezzanine business of Allianz. Before joining Allianz, Klaus worked as a lawyer in Freiburg and Cologne. Klaus graduated from Albert-Ludwigs-University, Freiburg in Law in 1995 and holds an LLM from Columbia University, New York, and a PhD in Law from the University of Freiburg.

Dmitry is a member of the Investment team.

Prior to joining Apera, Dmitry was an Associate at Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA), where he focused on European private equity fund, secondary and co-investment transactions. His prior experience also includes an internship at Freshstream, working on UK & Benelux private equity mid-market investments.

Dmitry holds a BA in Business Administration from University of St. Gallen, and a MSc in Finance from London Business School.

Karthika is part of the London Finance team.

Prior to joining Apera, Karthika worked as an Audit Assistant Manager at BDO’s London office and as an Audit Senior at Deloitte & Touche in India. She has experience in Asset and Wealth Management and the Private Equity industry. Karthika is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ethiraj College.

Ellie is part of the investment team at Apera and focuses on the UK and Nordic markets.

Prior to joining Apera, Ellie was a Manager in the Interpath London Debt Advisory team, providing transaction support and Credit Rating advisory services to UK based SMEs. Prior to Interpath, Ellie was a Senior Associate within Clearwater’s Debt Advisory team, where she worked on a wide range of mid-market sponsor backed transactions.

Ellie qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and holds an MA in History from the University of Edinburgh.

Chris is a Partner at Apera and supports the development of the business in the UK and the Nordic regions.

He joined from the Bank of Ireland where he was part of the Leveraged Acquisition Finance team focused on the origination, structuring and execution of sponsor-backed mid-market leveraged transactions across Europe. 

Chris graduated from Durham University with a BSc in Mathematical Sciences.

Eléa Roussotte is part of the Investment team.

Prior to joining Apera, Elea was an Investment Analyst at Adequita Capital, a London-based family office where she focused on international private equity and venture building. Her prior experience also includes internships at Five Arrows Principal Investments (Rothschild & Co) and IK Partners, working on UK & European small to mid-market private equity investments. Elea holds an MSc in Management (Grande Ecole Program) from ESSEC Business School and a BA in Economics and European Studies from University College London.

Claudia is the Director of our Luxembourg office and is responsible for all aspects of finance and operations in Luxembourg.

Claudia is an experienced Financial Controller and Management Accountant who started her career with BDO in Luxembourg and has worked for several years in the venture capital, private equity and real estate industry with firms such as The Carlyle Group and Marcol European Services S.à r.l. Before joining Apera, Claudia worked for six and a half years with Bormioli Rocco Holdings S.A., which managed financing activities of Bormioli Rocco S.p.A. and its subsidiaries.

Claudia holds a degree as a Certified Management Accountant from IHK (Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Trier. 

Jessica is the Executive Assistant to the Partners in the London office. 

She has ten years of experience working as an EA in the Property Development and Finance Industry. 

Prior to joining Apera, Jessica worked at the boutique Private Equity company TDR Capital, as an Executive Assistant to Senior Advisors and Partners.

Rob is a Founding Partner & CFO of Apera and is responsible for finance, operations and investor relations. 

Rob has worked in the alternative investment space for over fifteen years, and his experience spans capital raising, financing, structuring, reporting and compliance. 

Prior to joining Apera, Rob held finance and operational roles across various alternative strategies including hedge funds, growth technology investments, buyouts and real estate. 

Rob qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in Sydney and holds a Master of Finance from Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales with majors in Accounting and German.

Geoff is part of the Finance team at Apera. 

Prior to Apera, Geoff was an Audit Assistant Manager at BDO in their London office and an Audit Trainee at Deloitte & Touche in their Johannesburg office. Geoff focussed primarily on the Asset and Wealth Management, as well as Private Equity industries. 

Geoff qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with BDO and holds a BAccounting (Hons) from the University of Stellenbosch. Geoff has also completed the Financial Modelling and Valuations Analyst (FMVA®) course through the Corporate Finance Institute.

Andreea is our Company Secretary based in Luxembourg.

Andreea has more than six years of experience working within the funds industry in Luxembourg.  Before joining Apera, she worked as a Legal and Corporate Officer for Westmont Hospitality Group, an owner and operator of hotels around the globe.  Prior to working at the Westmont Hospitality Group, Andreea was part of the Acquisitions team at Revantage, a global corporate services leader serving Blackstone’s real estate portfolio companies and investments.  Andreea also worked for Park Square Capital, a leading private debt firm, providing credit solutions to companies across Europe and the US.

Andreea graduated in Economics and Business Administration from West University of Timisoara.  She also holds a certification for Company Secretaries at the Luxembourg Institute of Directors (ILA).

Mae-Linh is part of the Finance and Operations Team at Apera

Prior to Apera, Mae-Linh worked in the recruitment industry as part of the credit control and finance departments.

Mae-Linh is currently studying towards the AAT Professional Accounting qualification and holds a Bsc (Hons.) in Biomedical Science from King's College London.

Jodie is a Director of Investor Relations at Apera.

Jodie joins Apera with over a decade of experience in sales and distribution across financial markets. Jodie started her career in Institutional Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange sales with Westpac Banking Corporation, working from both their Sydney, then London offices. She then held Business Development roles while based in Geneva before returning to London to work as a placement agent with Alvine Capital where she had a focus on private credit.

Jodie graduated from the University of Sydney with a degree in Economics, majoring in Economics and Finance.

Laura is an Analyst in the Paris office and focuses on the French and Benelux regions.

Prior to joining Apera, Laura was a Transaction Services Analyst at KPMG France having previous experience in M&A and Corporate finance at Société Générale and Air Liquide where she worked on various transactions.

Laura holds an MSc in Finance from the ESSEC Business School.

David is a Founding Partner of Apera, responsible for developing the Apera platform and business in the United Kingdom and in the Nordic region. 

David has extensive experience in deal origination and portfolio management in the European leveraged finance market, most recently having spent 16 years at Babson Capital where he was Joint Head of European Private Finance. David was instrumental in establishing Babson’s presence in the European buyout finance market, and served as either an Investment Committee member or co-Chairman for several of Babson’s private debt and CLO funds.  

Prior to joining Babson, David led the UK leveraged finance team at Société Générale. David holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Banking and Finance from Loughborough University, a MBA from Cass Business School and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
